2. Objectives
The publishing of “Go!Theatre” is remarkable in the new era of Chinese theatre in Malaysia.
——Following by the encouraging development of local different drama societies and organizations, the editorial of “Go!Theatre” is looking for a writing platform to communicate, to change information, to exchange opinions and to share the experiences within each other.
——We wish to take the initiative from ourselves, and recruiting more performing art individuals and organizations, to discuss or study the art of drama, to disclose their feelings involved in this industry and to encourage, remind or learn among each other with experience sharing.
——We wish to capture the lights, sound, visual, performance on the stage down onto the paper, in words we analyze, criticize, communicate and interact wisely, expecting a matured and different varieties phenomenon in our local drama arts.
——We come out with a special article “People interview” every issue to reveal the problems faced by local drama organizations and our appeal, also the government’s stand in promoting the cultural activities especially drama and performing arts.
——Among the people who had been interviewed including formal and present minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dato’ Wong Kam Hoong, formal deputy minister of Youth and Sports and now the minister of Health Datuk Loew Tiong Lai, local famous theatre director Loh Kok Mun, Penang drama activist Wong Han Yee, well known choreographer and dancer Anthony Meh and Man Yap, local drama activist “laopa” Goh You Ping and Philip Wong, Kimmy Kiew etc.
